Do I Need To Prep For My Appointment?
Prior to your appointment, try your best to arrive without any eye makeup, do not curl your lashes or wear mascara the day before and the day of your appointment. It will help minimize the cleanup time and more time for lashing. It is also advised to not drink caffeine right before your appointment to avoid the jitters and twitching eyelids.
Will Lash Extensions Ruin My Natural Lashes?
If you take care of them, NO.
If you don't pick at them or pull at them, NO.
If you don't rub them excessively, NO.
& As long as you always go to a certified and experienced technician who applies them properly, then NO.
How Long Does The Appointment Take?
Lash extensions are applied while you are lying down with your eyes closed on a comfortable spa bed in a serene setting. This usually takes about 1.5 hours for a full set of lashes, but also depends on the set of lashes you decide to get. After prepping your lashes, your bottom lashes are protected with a gel eye pad, lash extensions are then applied 1-to-1 with medical grade adhesive. It is a really relaxing, non-invasive treatment and most of our clients take the time to catch up on their beauty sleep!
What happens during the appointment?
During your appointment, you will fill out a waiver before coming into the back room that goes over personal information and questionnaire. Then, you will lie on a bed for 1.5-2 hours where you can nap, listen to music, podcasts, or chat while your natural lashes are isolated ONE BY ONE and have an extension glued to them to curate a fully personalized look to suit your eye shape. At the end, you will be given a complete lash aftercare kit to supply you with the proper knowledge and equipment to go home feeling confident in how to take care of your new investment!
What is included in the price?
Unlimited lash count for both eyes for a full set of classic ($90), hybrid ($120), or volume ($150) eyelash extensions. Fills will be priced accordingly to the style chosen (roughly 55% of full set price).
Aftercare kits and lash cleansers are sold separately.
Do eyelash extensions hurt?
No. When applied PROPERLY by a certified and experienced technician, eyelash extensions should never hurt when being applied. The eyelash extension and glue should never be touching the skin.
How long will they last?
Your new lashes will last between 2 to 4 weeks depending on your skincare routine and your own natural lash life cycle. To maintain the full look of your lashes, it will require you to maintain refills every 2-3 weeks. You can extend the life of your eyelash extensions by properly taking care of them as guided in your aftercare kit.
How Often Should I Come In For Refills?
We recommend getting refills every 2 to 4 weeks. If you wait too long your extensions will fall out and you will require a full set. Factors such as exposure to humidity, steam or touching your eyes a lot may cause the extensions to fall quicker. Refills can take from 45 - 60 minutes, depending on the state of your remaining lashes. A good sign of when you need a refill is when your extensions are 30%-50% gone.
Can I Apply Mascara To The Extensions?
You shouldn't. The whole point of spending the money to get eyelash extensions is so that you no longer have to wear mascara. It will break down the adhesive and cause them to prematurely shed.
Can I Swim, Shower, or Exercise Wearing Eyelash Extensions?
Yes. The bonding agent we use is waterproof and allows you to shower, swim, exercise. However we recommend that you DO NOT WASH your eye area for at least 24 hours after the initial eyelash extension application. This allows the bonding agent to fully dry and prolong the life of your extensions.
Who Should NOT Wear Eyelash Extensions?
Eyelash extensions may not be suitable for people who:
Have pre-existing eyelid or eye conditions such as blepharitis and ocular rosacea
Are very rough with themselves and do not want to follow after care instructions
Want a very heavy mascara look but do not have the natural lashes to support it
Have a condition called Trichotillomania, which is compulsive pulling or twisting of hair or eyelashes
Are in chlorinated water many times a week
Cannot control rubbing their eyes
I Have Sensitive Eyes. Can I Still Get Lash Extensions?
It is important to have a patch test done prior to your appointment if you have sensitive eyes. If you have previously experienced an allergic reaction to eyelash adhesive, synthetics, or mink hair, it is strongly advised you do not receive eyelash extensions as you are no longer safe to receive the service.
